Often pictures speak louder than words.

I don't actually know what this is.

I think it's a bell tower. It sits on the top of a hill overlooking Uppsala

This is the Castle ontop of the Hill.

You can see how big the crowd is below

I don't think you realize how many steps I had to walk up to get this view. So enjoy it.

Downtown Uppsala
shops.jpg
here are some of the shops in downtown

These pictures are from when I ventured into town on the bus by myself. Everyone kept telling me repeatedly, "you can't get lost it's too hard." For all those who know me I probably don't even have to say it. Fine. I got lost. All the freakin' signs are in jibberish (it wasn't my fault).

The good thing about when you get lost, you get to see alot more. Naturally I did it on purpose so I could take more pictures (for you that is).

This is along the river that runs through the city
bikes.jpg
Did I mention that everyone rides their bikes here?

The stores are similar to those in America (so far that is). The malls aren't really malls. They're just a few shops clumped together. Mats says that they are somewhat new; an attempt to copy the U.S.

This is the center of town
downtown.jpg
all the buses come through here and people eat outside in cafes here.

When I couldn't find my bus stop anywhere I just came here and sat down. I figured the bus had to come by the center of town at some point, which it did!

This would be the Botanical Gardens

Center of Town (the other side of the street)

The center of town is like a big circle with shops all around and different side streets that branch off to more shops. No cars are allowed in this area, just busses.
